DESCOSEPT SENSITIVE MELON is a ready-to-use, ethanol-based rapid alcohol disinfectant for the disinfection and cleaning of alcohol-resistant surfaces and medical equipment. It is particularly suitable for patient-contact areas and dental settings, where rapid action and good material compatibility are required. The product contains 45 g of ethanol per 100 g of solution and can be used for wipe disinfection or by spraying. Visible soiling must be removed prior to disinfection, and the surface must remain completely wetted throughout the specified contact time.
The spectrum of activity includes bactericidal, levurocidal, tuberculocidal and mycobactericidal properties, as well as limited virucidal and limited virucidal PLUS efficacy. Supplementary tests confirm, amongst other things, efficacy against adenoviruses, noroviruses, vaccinia viruses and coronaviruses. Depending on the spectrum of activity and application, the tested contact times range from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. The product is VAH-listed and registered in Switzerland as a biocidal product for surface disinfection.
