The InfraWeeder Lady is a lightweight, petrol-powered infrared handheld device for targeted, herbicide-free weed control without an open flame. Weighing just 1.7 kg and with a compact working area of 8.5 x 17 cm, it is particularly suitable for flower beds, vegetable gardens, greenhouses and hard-to-reach areas such as dry stone walls, steps and steep slopes. Weeds can also be treated with precision on garden slabs, gravel paths, driveways and roof terraces.
The ceramic infrared burner reaches a temperature of around 950 °C. The intense radiant heat heats the plant tissue within a few seconds, causing the treated weeds to wilt. As a guideline, the manufacturer specifies an application time of approximately 3 seconds per spot. The device operates using a 330 g butane/propane gas cartridge and, with a consumption rate of around 125 g/h, has a running time of approximately 2.5 hours.
The InfraWeeder Lady is manufactured in Switzerland and is DVGW-certified. A suitable gas cartridge is included in the scope of delivery. Although the device operates without an open flame, sufficient distances from dry and flammable materials must be maintained during use, and the manufacturer’s safety instructions must be followed.
