Air Purifiers & CO2 Meters

The longer science deals with the subject of indoor climate, the more devices are also developed to improve it. Many different criteria have an influence on the climate inside a closed room, such as humidity, bacteria, viruses or the CO2 concentration in the air. Widely known are especially the humidifiers, these control and humidify the ambient air to provide a comfortable humidity in the colder seasons. In addition to these products, however, there are also the lesser known air purifiers, which provide comprehensive purification of the ambient air. These products bring many benefits and depending on the device, allergenic substances, fine dust, microorganisms and even unpleasant odors can be filtered from the air. Another device that can help you maintain a good indoor climate are the small and practical CO2 meters. These constantly monitor the CO2 content in the air and signal too high values so you know at what time to ventilate.

Air purifier

Air purifiers take in ambient air and clean or filter it to release it back into the room. Depending on the device, other substances are removed from the air and different volumes of air are cleaned in a certain time. The devices are highly recommended, especially for allergy sufferers, as many allergens such as pollen, mites, bacteria and viruses are filtered from the air. Dust and fine dust are also filtered, which greatly reduces asthma symptoms. In addition to these positive effects, a good indoor climate is generally very beneficial for all people who spend time in the room. By filtering bacteria and viruses, the spread of diseases can be reduced, especially at times of increased bacterial load. Likewise, many devices also have the positive side effect that unpleasant odors are quickly removed and thus provide an extremely pleasant indoor climate. On the market there are various devices that use different technologies for cleaning the air in the room. In our assortment you can find the following technologies:

  • UV-C air purifiers (purification by UV-C radiation and additional filter)
  • HEPA air purifier (purification by HEPA filter)
  • TPA air purifier (purification by cold plasma electrodes & a cold plasma field)

UV-C Air Purifier

UV-C rays are very short wavelength and can be used to kill bacteria, viruses and germs. This technology has been used in operating rooms for nearly 40 years to disinfect surfaces. Water is also purified in the food industry using UV-C radiation. In the case of air purifiers, there are closed systems that draw in air, irradiate it with UV-C light inside the device and release it back into the room in a purified state. There are also open systems, which irradiate surfaces directly and thus clean them. However, no person should be in the light cone of the device, as the radiation can be harmful to the skin and eyes above a certain dose. Therefore, we recommend the open systems only for professional use, the closed systems, on the other hand, can be used without hesitation in private homes.

HEPA Air Purifier

HEPA filter stands for "High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter" and means that this filter can filter viruses, bacteria, germs, pollen, mold pores, smoke and many other substances from the air. Unlike an EPA filter, the HEPA filter is even more powerful and efficient. The air sucked in the air purifier passes by the HEPA filter and the harmful particles get stuck on the surface. Most often, HEPA air purifiers are used with an upstream filter and a downstream activated carbon filter to ensure optimal performance. The number of circulations depends on the users of the room, for allergy sufferers more frequent air circulation is useful to further reduce harmful substances in the air.

TPA air purifier

The patented TPA technology filters the ambient air with the help of high voltage. A cold plasma field is created inside the device which filters the ambient air from harmful substances and particles. The Airdog air purifiers are an effective means of reducing bacteria and viruses in the air, especially in the fight against the COVID-19 virus. However, the air purifiers are also a very good answer to the growing demand for air purification and a better indoor climate outside of this exceptional situation.

We recommend the use of air purifiers in all public spaces that are rarely ventilated or where several people are regularly present. Especially in offices or in industry, the working conditions are significantly improved by a suitable air purifier.

CO2 measuring devices

Especially in rooms where several people are regularly present, such as offices or classrooms, a high CO2 concentration can build up in the air. CO2 is emitted by all persons in the room when breathing and accumulates in the room. An increased CO2 concentration in the air can lead to various ailments such as feeling unwell, poor concentration and headaches. This problem can be easily solved with regular ventilation or a controlled ventilation system. The CO2 values are given in ppm, which is the value "parts per million". It describes the number of parts of a substance in one million parts of a substance. The value is comparable with percent or per mille, but describes one millionth. The outside air has a value of approx. 400 ppm and within a room a value of 1000 ppm should not be exceeded in the optimum case. The upper limit for acceptable indoor air is 1400 ppm. Unfortunately, the CO2 level can only be felt if there is already a critical concentration in the room, but this should not be reached in the best case. Various tests have shown that the CO2 content is generally too high in many rooms and that there is too little ventilation.

Therefore we recommend to use a CO2 meter for all offices, classrooms, sports facilities or even at home in the study. If you have installed a comfort ventilation system in your building, this is not necessary, because these ventilation devices circulate the air often enough, so that critical values are not reached in principle. The devices have different functions, firstly many of them show the exact CO2 level, we are convinced that these small devices are the simplest and best solution for most rooms. Likewise, all CO2 devices give a signal as soon as a critical value is reached and should be ventilated in the room. This signal is given by a color or also as a sound, so you will always know when it is time to ventilate the room and protect your health. The devices are produced in a classy but simple design so that they fit perfectly into any room.
